I made Alma as a way to share my fascination with Mexican folklore, a topic that I have always been interested in. The art style was inspired by Mexican folkart and uses bright colors and geometric patterns. All of the art assets were painted by me in Photoshop, and the game itself was built in Unity. It was programmed in C#. If you want to view all of the scripts that I used on Alma you can check them out on github at the link. In terms of game play Alma is a 2D platformer that take inspiration from early 2D platformers. Making Alma taught me a lot about the complete process of making and publishing a game from start to finish, from design to programming to marketing.
